“Bus Chronicles is a collection of eighty poems composed in seventeen lines. Each chronicle is a fictional narrative based on unobtrusive observations of passengers who ride the Colorado Springs Mountain Metropolitan Transit (Mountain Metro) fixed-route bus system. The project has two components, visual texts on the windows of each bus and an audio collage of the poems in the Downtown Terminal.” ) Gallery of Contemporary Art, University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
Certainly is an upgrade from usual bus adverts. I have seen literary quotes on the New York subway, but this is original work and relevant to the ride and the passengers. The opening reception for this installation is December 4, at the Downtown Bus Terminal with the suggestion that “Those wishing to attend the reception are encourage to take a bus downtown.”
